Cultural Park - Truong Dinh

Todays Tet adventure took us to the Cultural Park on Truong Dinh.   If you have a green thumb you should definitely pay a visit.  Absolutely mind blowing bonsai and floral displays.
We haven't even left the apartment yet and I am gobsmacked by the magnificent cumquat trees out the front.

Hard to believe but these amazing dragons are made from bits of styrofoam and masses of plants and flowers. (Try to ignore the security guard partaking in what may be the national sport of nose picking)

Each flower appeared to be attached with an individual toothpick.

I am not sure of the tradition behind it but all of the little kids were feeding the dragon money.  I assume it was for good luck.

The kids among the blooms

Everyone was dressed up in their Tuesday best.

These sculptures made from fruit were breath taking.

Yes, candy does grow on trees!

A fun game where you blow your boat to victory.

And we have a winner.  Must remember this game the next time the kids have a party.

The orchids....ahhhh....the orchids.

I can't even begin to describe to you the beauty of the bonsai.  It almost makes you weep.  I will let the pictures do the talking.  I can only imagine how old some of these are and how much care has gone into creating these masterpieces.

This shot is a bit freaky.  It looks like a full size tree!

STUNNING!

Not all fun and games.  Some serious bird judging was taking place.

Maybe not so much a spectator sport the old bird judging.

This is honey...I'm too afraid to ask what is living in the top of the one on the right.

A fun morning.  If you appreciate flowers and plants, in fact, even if you don't, it's worth going and having a look.
