Bag Snatching in Saigon

To all my fellow Ho Chi Minhians and holiday makers.  This is just a timely reminder to leave the bags at home in the lead up to the Moon Festival.  As some of you are aware, petty crime seems to increase right before a holiday.  Those Moon Cakes are not cheap you know!  This awful video was captured by a fellow blogger and taken in District 1 just the other day.  It astounds me how fast it all happens.  They did not get the bag and she appears ok, just shaken.  Best to leave as much as you can at home to reduce the risk of becoming a potential target.  All that being said, it really is quite a safe city so if you are considering visiting please don't let this put you off.  You just need to be aware of your surroundings.
