Phew, Easter Bunny found us!

Who knew the Easter bunny could speak Vietnamese!

Poor kid.  We made him read it by spelling out the words.  All he wanted to do was find the stash!

Well done mate

Next clue!

Scarlett got pictures instead of words.

And that seemed to work just fine!

The Easter Bunny was up way past his bed time doing this!

Paydirt!  (Hey...bunny eggs are like hens teeth here...M&M's will have to do!)

Last clue for Scarlett

Peanut butter M&M's.  They are seriously GOOD!

The Pox

Sorry it has been a bit quiet.  This is due to the fact I have not done ANYTHING slightly interesting since Saturday when I was diagnosed with the Chicken Pox.  There has been a lot of feeling sorry for myself but that is about it.  Having already had them as a kid, this dose is not too bad but has certainly wiped me off my feet.  I am told I am one of the unlucky ones who managed to get it twice.  You know what I miss the most?  Hugging my kids.  Did not realise how often we are in each others arms until they have told me not to do it.  So while I sit at home with my ridiculous face mask staring at the tv I might go through some old photos and see if I can find anything interesting to post.  God i'm BORED!!!

Wholesale Heaven.

I recently found the wholesale market Binh Tay.  Wow!  Is there a shipload of stuff out there!  It is out in District 5 otherwise known as Chinatown.  A bustling market with everything in bulk.  Most vendors were happy to sell one offs but I did have a few say they would not sell to me.  I bought Scarletts new Princess wheelie suitcase out here.  The best I could get them down to at BT market was 300,000VND.  Picked the same one up here for 110,000VND (...and that was the first price, I did not have the heart to argue at that price!)  Well worth a wander around.  Mad but fun.  Oh, and they sell hats.

Blooming Marvellous!

Went on a lovely little adventure the other day.  In the morning on the way to work I had seen a lady on the back of a bike with the most amazing looking lotus flowers.  I usually buy my flowers at BT market but I must admit I had never seen lotus flowers there.  I asked Mr Hai and he told me about a flower market in District 10.  So after work we set off.  I can only imagine this place in the morning.  Apparently at about 5 am it is just overflowing with flowers of every description.  Don't even get me started on how cheap they are!  It's not really a market per se, more like just a street.  The address for those wanting to go is Ho Thi Ky St in District 10.

Now THAT is a lot of flowers.  There is a bike under there somewhere!

Found them!!!!

And now they live at my house.  I am almost embarrassed to say that this cost me less than $2!

Hong Kong Final Instalment: The best of the rest!

Hope you enjoyed our little trip to Honkers.  It was written mainly for family and friends so if anyone else go some useful info out of it then thats great.  Back to work today and as always, it feels like you never left.  We have 2 lots of visitors over the next week and a few short trips away planned so it will be a busy time.  Some exciting news coming up too...watch this space!

It had to be done.  With no Macca's here in HCMC we had a big pig out.  I placate myself by noting that the kids do not even know it is called McDonalds.  Quiddy calls it "The chippy shop"

Oh come one, everyone does that don't they?

Right down to the doormen, they were perfect.

I always dreamed of the day when the kids would be old enough to really look out for themselves while travelling.  It is amazing how quickly it actually happens.  They won't let us touch their cases, even putting them on the scanning belts themselves.

I guess the good news is that they are developing a love of travel. The bad news is, one day they are going to say "see ya mum" then I get to worry about them all over again.

At three, it can still be a bit tiring.

He is such a serious little thing.  Every time he studies the saftey card and asks questions (Good ones too!).  He then patiently watches the safety demo.  Some grown ups could take a leaf from his book.

This cheered him up.

...and this sums it up.  When I look back at how much we crammed into six days I'm not surprised she has crashed. I really hope that they remember a lot of it even though they are quite young.  I know it was a holiday we we never forget.
